This is a conversation I had with Mihai while waiting for the bus:
Mihai: Did you know that if you come across a black cat, that means bad luck?
Dan: Yes, I think I’ve heard that one before.
M: It’s true! And if you see a white cat right after you have seen a black cat, that cancels the bad luck.
D: Sounds reasonable…
M. I’m not sure what happens though if you see a white cat without having seen a black cat.
D. Well, that can’t be bad.
M: Anyway, if you want to make sure you get rid of the bad luck, you absolutely have to take three steps backwards.
D. Aha, uhm… who told you all that?
M. My Science teacher!
D. …!?
